As of Phoenix Flyers is currently at our pilot capacity is running a wait-list. To join the wait list you must submit a member application and the $250 application fee to the treasurer via mail.

We do ask that all pilots on the waiting list attend at least one monthly meeting before transitioning to being an active member, but there’s no specific timing required.

The application fee is refundable on request until you become a member. For more details on how the wait-list works, please see the operations manual section 14.3.

Estimating The Length

As of 2021, our average turnover is 10 pilots each year.

Current Procedure

When a member slot opens up, we contact the pilot in the top position and offer them the slot. If they choose not to take the slot, they’re allowed a single deferral, after which we will contact the next pilot in the list and repeat. If a pilot chooses to defer a second time, they forfeit their priority and are placed at the bottom of the waiting list.

Entries highlighted in yellow have deferred accepting a membership slot at least once. Pilots who have deferred aren’t consulted for new membership slots until they ask to stop deferring.
