Purpose
Phoenix Flyers, Inc. was established in 1958 at Sky Harbor International Airport for the purpose of providing cost effective aircraft to it's members for personal, pleasure, and business use. In 1997 the club moved its aircraft from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to Chandler and Deer Valley Airports. The Corporation is non-profit, with each member being an equal owner of the aircraft. A Board of Directors, voted into office by the membership, makes the Club policy and manages Club affairs. Since our members are part owners in the aircraft, the aircraft are well maintained and well cared for.

Applying for Membership
Please see Joining Phoenix Flyers. A prospective member must submit a written application to get on our waiting list. When a membership opens up, the prospective member must submit a check for $4500 to cover the membership fee of $250 and the price of a share in the organization. Prospective members are screened through a credit check, as a minimum, and any other checks deemed necessary by the Board to establish confidence in the applicant. Student pilots are welcomed and encouraged. After acceptance by the Board, the new member must pass an initial aircraft checkout with the club instructor of his/her choice.

Shares
The cost of a share in Phoenix Flyers Inc. is $4250. Phoenix Flyers Inc. is registered in the state of Arizona as a non-profit corporation. All share holders are equal owners in the aircraft and have the privilege to use of all aircraft providing they meet experience and checkout requirements. When you leave the club, your share may be sold back to the board of directors for $4250, or with board approval, it may be sold to another individual.

Fixed Monthly Dues
Corporation members are assessed a monthly $125 fee to cover the fixed costs of running the Club and maintaining the aircraft fleet. This fee covers insurance, hanger rental, office supplies, 24 hour reservation service, and some money set aside for aircraft upgrades.

Scheduling
Reservations for aircraft use are made through our 24 hour automated reservation system. All aircraft must be reserved before flying. The maximum reservation period is 16 days.

Daily Minimum Charge
The minimum use rate is one hour of flight time per 24 hours of reserved time. A 1 hour charge will be made for reservations made and then not utilized and not canceled.

Billing
The Corporation Treasurer bills each member monthly for the fixed dues and flight time charges accrued during the month. Members are expected to pay promptly or be subject to a late charge.

Membership Limits
Club policy and requirements of our insurer limit the number of active shareholders to 15 per aircraft. The board of directors may set a limit lower than 15 per aircraft to insure good aircraft availability for current members.

Operating Procedures
Each Club member, upon entry into Phoenix Flyers, is provided a complete and updated copy of the Corporate By-Laws and Operating Procedures. Detailed information regarding flying operations, billings, etc., is contained in this manual. All members are expected to read and obey all Club operating procedures.

Insurance
The Corporation aircraft are insured by W. Brown and Associates Insurance Service through Falcon Insurance Agency of Arizona with liability limits of $100,000 per person, $300,000 per occurrence and total coverage to $1,000,000 per accident. Medical payments are covered to a level of $3,000 per person. Hull insurance is covered above a $2,500 deductible. Coverage only applies when the planes are operated by a Corporation member with a current medical and biannual review as required by FAA regulations, current in the aircraft being flown, and in compliance with all FAR's.
Each member is responsible to the full deductible amount during the time he/she is in possession of the Corporation aircraft. That is, if the plane is damaged, whether through carelessness or not, the member who is signed out for the aircraft is responsible for the first $2,500.
